Fatal Error

This week was going to be the week that I mixed the new album. I had  a week off and apart from a 3 day trip to Cardigan and other odd jobs, I was going to to ‘don the headphones and finish Erebus and Terror (The current working title) as well as complete a volume of sound fx and loops. Unfortunately, this was also the week that my PC decided to blow up and after a painstakingly slow process of trying to isolate the problem (it’s the Motherboard, for those interested), It became apparent that a new PC would be needed but the funds for a new PC would be needed first.

Anyway, I’ve had plenty of fun getting to play my neglected acoustic guitar and even isolated the problem with this. It turned out, I’d just forgotten how to play the instrument which was the main reason for it sounding bad and not due to any structural damage. A week of intense practice and finger hardening seems to be paying dividends.

I’ve also been able to spend some time sorting out my studio and preparing some much needed stream-lining before the arrival of a new PC/Laptop. Guitar playing and studio de-cluttering. Less will hopefully mean more.
